The Challenge
This week we’re talking about how Waterloo is Yours — the parks and trails in our city are all of ours to enjoy! The parks and trails around the city are here for all of us to use and enjoy in different ways. Public parks are really special spaces, as they give us all an opportunity to connect with nature within the city, regardless of whether we have a huge backyard at home or a single pot plant. How do you like to use these spaces? For getting around the city, playing with friends, connecting with nature, having a picnic or family bbq? Let me know!
We’re also talking about the way that Waterloo is Green — Green space is critical to our urban environment and actually something that sustains us. From proving a network for getting around the city on a bike, to combating urban heat island effect, parks and trails are more than “nice to haves” — they’re critical spaces.
However you think of these things — your place in the city, and the purpose of our green spaces — create something visual and send it in!
If you have questions for me, you can send them to cultureplan@waterloo.ca.
Good luck and happy creating!
